I've been trying to blog for a while now, but let's just say I am beginning to really empathize with writers who prefer the solitary life. No, I don't want to be solitary, but I understand it. This is not just about any one thing. The last interruption was our clumsy oaf of a dog, Conan, unplugging my PC mid-blog. But any one thing is due home from the doctors soon, so I am trying to make it brief. Not my forte. Being woke actually make you be more creative when it comes to your humor. For example, my new favorite oxymoron is Fiscally Responsible Addict. Now my usual stand by for favorite oxymoron was White Center, Washington. It is worth a smirk, but it took no creativity. It was just there. It is the definition of low hanging fruit. When I woke I promised myself the only low hanging fruit in my jokes going forward will be as a metaphorical reference to old men's testicles. I can tell that joke because I am an old man, and thanks to Washington being a community property set I still own half a pair of testicles. I still own one testicle. The other part of being woke that makes it more difficult to be funny, is often there is no built-in or implied punchline. Unless I come up with a way to construct a joke, or even amusing quip, using Fiscally Irresponsible Addict. Comedy is always a work in progress. Always trying to rework jokes you've written to be funnier, or have more impact, so while this may be the first context in which I use Fiscally Responsible Addict, but you can be sure it won't be the last. Here's what I have so far: Keep an eye out for my first book of amusing quotes. It will be called The Fiscally Responsible Addict. Did I mention self serving could also be a goal?
